Scott Jacobsen is a freelance musician based in Albuquerque. He performs frequently on both the piano and the saxophone in a wide variety of genres. Scott is a founding member of the Basilaris Trio, whose original jazz fusion music can be heard somewhere in town almost every weekend of the year. He has benefited from the mentorship of local luminaries of jazz including Bobby Shew, Doug Lawrence, Glenn Kostur and John Rangel. Scott is sought after as a collaborative pianist by the grad students and professors in UNM's music department. If he isn't at a gig or a rehearsal, he is probably at home playing Chopin or Liszt.
